Geographic What?

Well 2017 has not been so kind to us health wise…yet!

I got sick New Years Day and I am still sick.  All of southern California I think is sick with the same crud.

Bleh!

Daphne has been feeling meh for the past few days and it turned into something yesterday with a cough, and low grade temp.

Yesterday evening she spit up at therapy and then after she woke after going to bed for the night puked a little of her dinner up but then ate 3/4 of a banana and was wired for hours.

Till about 1am that is.  Luckily it was Rich’s night [insert snarky smile]

He said she had trouble breathing, swallowing and coughing and her temp was still hanging around so off to the doctor we went today.

Croup!

A little oral steroid and hopefully a couple days of rest and she will be ok.  Fingers Crossed!

We have a very busy weekend ahead and actually for the next couple of weeks so we cannot handle a sickness slowing any of us down.

Adelaide also complained of sinus pressure last night and that kid is the one that can really not get sick since the craziness involves her…

Soccer Tournament Two Weekends in a row with a Cheer Competition in San Diego Sunday..she needs to be in tip top shape (literally)!

She is not a fan of the Neti-Pot (I love it!) nor does she like the steam inhaler thing, so a little vicks, saline spray to clean her nose and off to bed she went, can we say Placebo effect?!

Hopefully she just wanted some attention from the rest of the sick folks in the house.  Rich has this as well but not as bad as Daphne and I.

While at the doc getting examined I asked again about her tongue the red spots and white areas and that I cannot brush them away but she does not seem bothered and the doc said you know I think she has Geographic Tongue… ummm what?

Well it sounds right and the pictures match up to Daphne’s tongue and the side effect is sensitivity to salt and acidic foods…..ding ding her mama has this as well.  I do not have the splotches as much as Daphne but I cannot handle salty food AT ALL and acidic bleh.  Probably why I have not loved fruit that much.  It makes my mouth RAW.

This is normal and nothing to be done about it just avoid the foods that bother you.

We are sensitive gals, what can I say.

Any tips you have for good organic, non gmo, no sugar, no crap vitamins (gotta stay with the trend)or steps to boost your immune system, I am all EARS!

xoxo Desiree

First Born

Adelaide is my first born and no one can take that title from her.

She has had a rough few weeks and that is part of growing up, but truth be told it has been much harder on me than on her.

As my uncle laughed at me telling him what we have been going through with her, he said “Desirée…she is just like you!”

Yeah, yeah I know but wowsa!

Then he said, “wait until she turns 16, she is going to hate you!”  Oh great, thanks! 🙂

But even with these moments, it is so nice for her to see the reason for my doings and say “hey you know, it wasn’t bad being Hermione for Halloween.”

(back story…she begged for this in July and wanted the really expensive cape from Universal and I said no, but instead ordered it from Amazon, she was thrilled…..until the Halloween catalogs starting coming out then she wanted a $200 costume from Chasing Fireflies….sorry Sista, not happening and you can imagine how it went from then, but I did offer her to buy a new costume with her own money which she did not have enough of and she could find ways to make more money but that was JUST NOT FAIR!)

She has returned to her sweet self and maybe even a little more compassionate than before and expressive of her feelings and descriptive of her days.

That is all I want as her parent.

My Girls in October

October was a big month for Daphne, she started babbling letter sounds…Ba, Wa, La, Lo and M sounds

and…

started rolling over again, all over our floor.  She loves it, she cracks up as soon as she gets over and just keeps on going.

This is not the best video because she got distracted kicking the furniture but you can hear her laugh and see the rolls!

Adelaide is loving Mid Year Cheer and doing so well.

I loved cheerleading when I was a kid and it makes me happy to see her enjoying it just as much as I did.  Hopefully she can avoid the broken arm, she is also a flyer (princess they call it).

He is not one of the girls but a furry thing I care about…Enzo is doing great and is so rotten and LOVES to play!

This girl

This girl is amazing.

I miss this girl more than anyone can imagine.

I wish I was as cool as she is as a kid.

I always try to keep her in check with whatever little thing she faces and new little attitude and fade but I am absolutely envious of her true her.

She is so confident, outgoing and carefree to only name a few of her amazing qualities.

This is the last week of summer camp dressed up as a Tacky Tourist.

Stay true to you baby girl!

I love that she has the confidence in me to help her pull off these crazy ideas!

I miss my mini me.
